Outreach Pays Off I believe Outreach is reeellleee (really) important. By confession, it's not the most popular "ministry" for many folks - but it's extremely imperative if we are going to see souls won to the Kingdom of Heaven.
Our Young People are great people and they rallied around our first Outreach (under my leadership) like ducks to a pond. We had a 2 night activity. The first night, we went around town handing out free bottles of chilled water or soda along with an invitation to a special Pizza Party the following evening.
The next evening, THIRTY-TWO visitors came out for pizza, fellowship, and fun. The first 30 minutes, we met in the sanctuary where we introduced our visitors to our Youth Program through Praise and Worship, a choir presentation, and a game to get acquainted. Afterwards, everyone chowed down on hot pizza, breadsticks w/cheese, and pop! It was such a fun and uplifting experience - and was especially rewarding for those who had difficulty getting out the first night.
I am thankful we serve a living God who really cares about us. He so graciously caused our outreach to be profitable the first time so discouragement was non-existent. It made the next outreach a LOT easier!
